Chile Pepper magazine, the pre-eminent zesty foods publication in the world, selected ‘Citizen Cajun’ Very Hot mango-habanero salsa for inclusion in its “Salsa Scoop” column in the July, 2009 issue.  This column features a different class of salsas (meaning fresh, jalapeno, black bean, fruit, etc.) in each bi-monthly issue.  This month’s focus was fruit salsas, and ‘Citizen Cajun’ was reviewed among six other fruity salsas.  Their verdict?

“What other fruit salsas lack in the heat department, Big Orson’s makes up tenfold with a spark of habanero–a burning fire accompanies this Cajun spin on mango salsa.  Ginger also adds a nice subtlety to this chunky concoction that’ll kick your taste buds into gear.”

Fine praise, if I do say so myself.
